From REO Asset Manager to Running My Own Renovation Company
In 2008, I worked as a mortgage lender for Eastern Savings Bank in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, where we provided subprime loans nationwide, with a focus on the Chicago area. When the housing market crashed in 2009, I was given an opportunity to relocate to Chicago and manage the bank's REO portfolio. That's how my journey into the world of rehab began. Over the next six years, my team and I repaired over 150 homes for ESB, gaining extensive experience in all areas of Chicagoland. In 2015, I joined Fay Servicing as an REO asset manager, where I continued to work on rehabs, albeit from a desk and nationwide. While the experience was valuable, I missed being in the field. So, in 2018, I founded RBD Renovation LLC, and over the next several years, we worked on much larger multi-unit projects for investors and direct clients. Our team consists of six members and several subcontractors, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, concrete, hardwood floors, and framing experts. We take on both large and small projects that others might turn down, and we prioritize transparent pricing and frequent communication, which our clients appreciate.
